Givonate is a donation app for Shopify merchants. This page explains how donation funds flow when a customer donates through Givonate.

Givonate does not collect or distribute funds

Givonate never collects, holds or transfers donation money, and it does not send funds to any charity on the merchant’s behalf.

How a donation is paid

• The customer chooses an amount in the Givonate donation widget on the merchant’s storefront (one-time or monthly).
• The donation is added to the cart as a regular Shopify product. Monthly donations use a Shopify selling plan.
• The customer pays through the merchant’s own Shopify checkout and payment provider.
• The funds go directly to the merchant’s Shopify payouts, like any other order.

Who sends the donations to the cause

The merchant manages the donations and is fully responsible for forwarding them to the cause or charity they support.

What Givonate provides

Givonate provides the storefront donation widget, campaign management and reporting (for example, the amount raised per campaign) to help merchants run and track their fundraising.
